3D building mapping
We believe that Matterport’s groundbreaking 3D virtual platform can be a key ingredient in helping schools. A digital twin is a great asset for any emergency planning, it is the most accurate virtual 3D model of a real place – whether it be a room, an entire building, or an outdoor space. First Responders can have access to a digital twin of the school, which provides them with vital information – such as entry and access points – in case an emergency strikes. Responders can become familiar with the location from any laptop or smart device. This way they are ready for any incident that may occur in the future. In addition, the school’s facilities team can easily figure out how to plan for any type of everyday or emergency event. Locations can be marked with fire extinguishers, fire alarms, AED devices, electrical and gas shutoff areas.
Detailed floorplans
These plans can assist with catastrophic events such as active shooters, tornadoes, fires, medical etc. They can be made available to administrators, teachers and maintenance personnel, who can access these plans from their mobile device. This allows for collaboration between school authorities and first responders for virtual security assessments, decreased response time, scheduling, and critical resources.

A 2D map allows the officers to view and determine where to access the building that they are responding to. This map will also lead the officer to zoned areas within the building where the catastrophic event is occurring.
